The meeting of the Holy Synod was opened by the Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, the Archbishop of Mtskheta and Tbilisi, the Metropolitan of Bichvinta and Tskhum-Abkhazia, His Holiness and Beatitude Ilia II.

The Holy Synod of the Georgian Orthodox Church canonized the Father Gabriel (Urgebadze).

On December 20, in the building of the Georgian Patriarchate, will be held a meeting of the Holy Synod.

On December 19 (6) the Orthodox Church commemorates Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker and Archbishop of Myra in Lycia.

On December 17 (4) the Church commemorates the Great-martyr Saint Barbara and Martyr Juliana of Heliopolis.

On December 4 (November 21) the Orthodox Church commemorates the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

The Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, His Holiness and Beatitude Ilia II will be awarded with the International Prize of the Russian Orthodox Church.
