“The Patriarchate of Georgia has imposed 10000 Euros annual award for the best chorusand singer”, - the Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia Ilia ll said after a charitable concert in Paris.

“Georgian songs, Georgian hymns are unique throughout the world. Our desire is to introduce the unique songs to the whole world. We made a decision to award the best chorus or singer with 10000 Euros each year. We also made a decision to declare 14 May as a day of Georgian songs and hymns”, - the Patriarch said.

The charitable concert was organized by the “Iavnana” foundation in Paris. Georgian songs were performed by famous Georgian signers at the concert. The presentation of the Patriarch’s hymn “SANCTUS” was also held at the concert.

The “Iavnana” foundation will buy a flat to a family of the Kharitonashvili with the sum raised during the concert.

The concert was attended by David Bakradze, the Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia.
