On April 22, in the framework of the VII International Festival "From Easter to Ascension", in the Great Hall of the Tbilisi Conservatory took a place the final evening of the Tbilisi part of the festival. The concert participants were: Tbilisi Opera and Ballet Symphony Orchestra, George Vachnadze (piano), Nana Kavtarashvili - Mirian (soprano) and Vakhtang Machavariani (conductor). As the final chord of the closing evening of the festival was performed the composition by the Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, His Holiness and Beatitude Ilia II – “AGNUS DEI” (The Lamb of God). The composition was performed by Nana Kavtarashvili - Mirian (soprano), Sulkhan Gvelesiani (bass) and condacted by Zviad Bolkvadze who is also the author of the arrangement and orchestration of the composition.

The closing evening of the festival was attended by the Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, His Holiness and Beatitude Ilia II.

After Tbilisi the concerts will continue in Stepantsminda (April 24), Martvili (May 8) and Kutaisi (May 22), and the final evening of the festival traditionally will be held on the feast of the Assumption in the city of Batumi, where, on May 24, the new hall of the Music Center will host a concert devoted to the works of the famous composer Joseph Bardanashvili.

Tomorrow, on April 24, in Stepantsminda will be held the gala-concert of the festival. The concert participants are: Nana Kavtarashvili - Mirian (soprano), Mamuka Manjgaladze (tenor), Victoria Chaplinskaia (piano) and TSU GORDELA under the authority of Tamaz Mamaladze.

The next concert of the festival will take the place in Martvili, in “Salkhino” summer residence of the princes Dadiani.

The VII International Festival "From Easter to Ascension" is dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the enthronement of the Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, His Holiness and Beatitude Ilia II.
