The VII International Festival "From Easter to Ascension" will be dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the enthronement of the Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, His Holiness and Beatitude Ilia II.

With the blessing of His Holiness, the festival "From Easter to Ascension" was established in 2006 by the International Charitable Foundation of the Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia. The permanent partner of the festival is Tbilisi City Hall.

This year the festival will be held in the 7th time. The artistic director of the festival is an outstanding Georgian pianist Alexander Korsantiya, which currently operates in the United States.

The festival traditionally will be held in Tbilisi, in the week of Bright Resurrection, from 18th to 22nd of April.

The concerts will be held in the Great Hall of the Tbilisi Conservatory.

After Tbilisi the concerts will continue in Stepantsminda (May 2), Martvili (May 20), Kutaisi and Zugdidi (May 22), and the final evening of the festival traditionally will be held on the feast of the Assumption in the city of Batumi, where, on May 24, the new hall of the Music Center will host a concert devoted to the works of the famous composer Joseph Bardanashvili.

At the final evening of the Tbilisi part of festival, in the Resurrection of Thomas (April 22), will be performed the musical composition by the Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia - "Agnus Dei", written for two soloists, chorus and orchestra.
