Historical Construction on Makhata Hill starts on April 17

The historical construction of St. Iveria Virgin Mary Temple on Makhata Hill starts on April 17. The Catholicos Patriarch of All Georgia Ilia II will deliver church service on this day and the first land on the place of the Alter of the temple will be taken out.
Holy remains brought from the holy places of the world and Georgian eparchies will be laid in the foundation of the temple.
People from 38 eparchies of Georgia will arrive to participate in the construction. They will bring stones by blessing of the Patriarch bearing prayer and names of their family members or people loved by them. The stones will lay in the foundation of the temple. Angia the Foreteller’s icon was painted by blessing of the Patriarch which is considered the patron of the temple.
Founder of the Iveria foundation Paata Burtchuladze will take part in the ceremony of the construction, who leads the construction of the temple by blessing of Patriarch Ilia II. The temple is built by the public and Georgians in emigration. 145,000 people are already involved in the public action. The book of dead and alive is created with names and surnames of millions of Georgians building the temple.
