The Orthodox Church Celebrates the Adoration of the Holy Cross

Today, the Church observed the third Sunday of the Fast, dedicated to the Adoration of the Holy Cross.

The Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, the Archbishop of Mtskheta and Tbilisi, the Metropolitan of Bichvinta and Tskhum-Abkhazia, His Holiness and Beatitude Ilia II will deliver church service at St. Trinity temple.

Adoration of the Holy Cross is marked in the middle of the Lent. It reminds the believers the Passion of Christ and strengthens them in their faith.

The Lent began this year on February 27 and ends on April 15, at the Holiday of the Resurrection of Christ.
