The means of media have spread the information, that the government of Georgia has made some steps toward the return of the Cross Monastery. The public also associates this with the visit of the Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia to the Holy Land, and asks us to make a comment. We wish to declare, that His Holiness, Ilia II, during his visit had meetings with the spiritual and secular persons of higher rank, but the question of the return of the Cross Monastery at these meetings was not considered. We would also like to note, that the Church of Georgia does not have any information on specific government actions to address this issue.
