Visit of the Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia to the Holy Land

The Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, the Archbishop of Mtskheta and Tbilisi, and the Metropolitan of Bichvinta and Tskhum-Abkhazia, His Holiness and Beatitude Ilia II concludes his visit to the Holy Land.
The head of the Georgian Church, together with a delegation of clerical and secular persons, departed to Jerusalem on February 16. During the visit, the Catholicos-Patriarch met with the head of the Orthodox Church of Jerusalem, the Patriarch Theophilus II. The leader of the Georgian Church also met and blessed compatriots living in Israel. His Holiness and Beatitude, together with members of the delegation, visited the Holy Sepulchre, the places of Birth and Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, and other holy places of Israel.
During the visit, the Catholicos-Patriarch also met with the President of Israel and the Palestinian leader. The delegation of the Orthodox Church of Georgia will return to homeland on February 25.
