The icon "The Hope of Georgia" was created during the last three years with the blessing from the Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, the Archbishop of Mtskheta and Tbilisi, the Metropolitan of Bichvinta and Tskhum-Abkhazia, His Holiness and Beatitude Ilia II.

In the centre of the icon "The Hope of Georgia" is placed the image of the Holy Mother of God, and at the top of the icon is located the image of the Holy Trinity. On both sides from the Holy Mother of God are located the images of Holy Archangels - Michael and Gabriel. At the right side of the icon are placed the images of St. Andrew and St. George, and on the other side - St. Nicholas and St. Nino. On the icon are also placed the images of the Holy Martyrs and the clergy.

"With the grace of God is created the icon, which we were creating during the last three years. This is a big icon, about the same size as the icon of Our Lady of Khakhuli. On it are located more than 400 small icons of the saints. The icon is decorated with enamel and gold leaves. The icon is miraculous", - said His Holiness and Beatitude Ilia II (19/12/2011).

On December 24, at 11:00 am, the procession, which will take the icon out of the building of the Georgian Patriarchate to the Zion Cathedral, will be led by His Holiness and Beatitude himself and the clergy and parishioners. After a short chapel in Zion Cathedral, the procession with the icon will take the course to the Holy Trinity Cathedral where the chapel will be held.

The persons, willing to participate in the procession, should come to the building of the Georgian Patriarchate at 10:30 a.m. on December 24.
