"We, the Patriarchs, should do everything to restore peace and prosperity", - said the Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, His Holiness and Beatitude Ilia II at his meeting with the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill.

"The conflict, which was and remains between the two countries, is an open wound and we must do everything for its healing. I am confident, we will succeed, "- said Ilia II.

The Patriarchs of Georgia and Russia met in Moscow Cathedral of Christ the Savior and discussed ways to resolve the unsettled issues between the countries. The Primate of the Georgian Orthodox Church went on a visit to the Russian capital on November 18 to mark the 65th anniversary of the Patriarch Kirill.

On November 23, Ilia II will serve the liturgy in the Georgian St. George's church in Moscow. Also, the meeting with the representatives of Georgian Diaspora and Abkhazians living in Moscow is scheduled.
