The Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, the Archbishop of Mtskheta and Tbilisi, the Metropolitan of Bichvinta and Tskhum-Abkhazia, His Holiness and Beatitude Ilia II is visiting the Chkondidi diocese. At Martvili district the head of the Georgian Church was met by parishioners with candles and icons. They also organized a small concert dedicated to Patriarch. The Catholicos-Patriarch will stay in the summer residence of the Dukes Dadiani in Salkhino, where recently was also opened the patriarchal residence. Head of the Georgian Church will remain in West Georgia for a few days.

On November 3, the Patriarch will consecrate the Church of the Holy King David. The architect of the church is Revaz Janashia and decorations of the church are made by Zviad and Koba Dzidziguri. The church was built during 11 years. The Church with the 37 meters in height dome is mostly decorated with the ornaments similar to the ornaments from Tao-Klarjeti.
