"As you know, the Turkish government issued a decree on the transfer of churches which are located at the territory of Turkey to the countries to whom these churches historically belonged. Such churches have already passed to the Greeks, Armenians, Russian, but we have not yet passed to us. I sent a letter to the Prime Minister of Turkey, in which I asked him to transfer to us Oshki, Khakhuli and other Georgian churches. We were answered that letter is yet under consideration, but I asked our ambassador and the consul to give a special attention to this issue "- said the Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, His Holiness and Beatitude Ilia II at the Holy Trinity Patriarchal Cathedral in his Sunday sermon, and expressed hope for a positive resolution of this issue.
