Today, on the Nativity Day of the Holy Virgin, the icon of the Iberian Mother of God written a year ago at the Holy Mount Athos was moved with procession to Didube Church. It is the second month as with the blessing of the Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, Archbishop of Mtskheta and Tbilisi, the Metropolitan of Bichvita and Tskhum-Abkhazia, His Holiness and BeatitudeIlia Ilia II the icon travels with procession to the holy places of Georgia. Today, the procession started at seven o'clock in the morning from located at Bukhaidze Street Annunciation Convent, and later, the congregation brought the icon of the Iberian Mother of God to Didube Church where the Catholicos-Patriarch conducted the holy liturgy.

The icon of Iberian Mother of God was written by monks from Mount Athos in 2010 for the newly constructed monastery complex on mount Makhata. On August 2, the day of the patron angel of the Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, upon blessing from the head of the Georgian Church, the shrine was moved from mount Makhata to the Zion Cathedral. The shrine already has visited Svetitskhoveli Cathedral, a convent Samtavro, Crusade monastery, the monastery of Zedazeni, the dioceses Dusheti, Tsilkani, Stepantsminda and Khevi. In the future shrine will visit all the temples and holy places of Georgia.
