Batumi International Festival "Night Serenades"

The Festival "Night Serenades" is established by the world-famous violinist - Liana Isakadze in 1982 year in Abkhazia, Bichvinta. Over the past 8 years this festival has gained immense popularity both in Georgia and abroad.
In 1990 year, because of political situation in the country, the festival ceased the existence and only in 2009 year, with the support of Batumi Municipality, Liana Isakadze newly established the international festival in the Black Sea region and called it similar to the Bichvinta festival - "Night Serenades."
In 2009-2010 years, the festival passed with the great success in the open air on the territory of the historic Gonio fortress.
In 2011 year, the third international festival "Night Serenades" will be held on August 25-28.
Opening ceremony of the festival will be held in the new Opera House of Batumi, and the following three nights of the festival will be held again in the fortress Gonio outdoor.
The final evening, which will be held on August 28 in the marathon style, will be broadcasted by the Public Broadcaster and the collected money will be used for the needs of being built on a Makhata mountain Virgin Mary monastery complex.
The third international festival is dedicated to the friendship between Abkhazian and Georgian people and is held under the patronage of the President of Georgia.
The festival is supported by the International Charitable Foundation of the Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, Batumi Municipality and the Ministry of Culture and Monument Protection. General sponsor of the festival is the Bank "Republic".
