On August 12, at the State Chancellery, the second meeting of the Commission on Ecclesiastical Issues was held.

At the meeting were approved the committee members.

"At the first meeting it was decided that we would set up four commissions. At today's meeting we approved the committee members. We have also agreed to jointly develop a charter and guidelines. I am sure that this committee will be very productive." - Said the Prime-Minister Nika Gilauri.

According to him, the charter of the commission will be approved by the government in early September, while meeting of the four commissions will be held on September 15.

The first meeting of the Commission on Ecclesiastical Issues was held on July 19. The commission's work will be coordinated by Nika Gilauri.

The commission will work in several directions: commission on the status of the Georgian Church in the world and abroad, the commission on church property, the real estate and cultural monuments’ definition commission and the monitoring commission.
