Visit of the Catholicos-Patriarch to Ukraine

The official visit of the Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia to Ukraine has continued. His Holiness is visiting Ukraine for the first time. As the Metropolitan of Kiev and All Ukraine, His Beatitude Vladimir, has said in his official statement - "This is the first and historic visit to the Ukrainian land of the Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia." At the first day of the visit, in Kiev-Pechersk Lavra, was made a formal reception to His Holiness. On the reception His Holiness met the Ukrainian clergy and Georgian residents in Kiev.

On Tuesday, July 26, His Holiness opened the exhibition "Iberia and the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra - the blessed lands of the Virgin Mary." His Holiness also visited the St. Elias Church where he was greeted with the Georgians living in Ukraine. After a visit to the Church, Catholicos-Patriarch gave interviews to local and international media. Today, at 7:00 p.m. byTbilisi time, is also scheduled the formal meeting of the Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, Ilia II and Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia, Kirill.

Apart from the official delegation, during his visit to Ukraine, His Holiness is also accompanied by a large group of pilgrims from Georgia.
