The Patriarch met with Michael Jensen

The co-rapporteurs of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) Michael Aastrup Jensen (Denmark, ALDE) and Boriss Cilevics (Latvia, SOC) met with the Patriarch of All Georgia. The meeting was held behind closed doors. After the meeting, they spoke to make summarizing statements at today’s press conference.

Michael Jensen made a short comment about the meeting. He said that he had a very interesting meeting and many issues were discussed.

The representatives of Council of Europe underscored the positive role of the Patriarch of All Georgia and said that they were introduced to the current situation. Issues discussed on today’s meeting were important for them, namely – what can the church do in political or religious directions to unite the public.

Jensen said that they will have communications with the Patriarchate in future too.
