The International Foundation of the Catholicos-Patriarch of Georgia, with the financial support of the businessperson David Yakobashvili, began a project in frames of which the citizens of Georgia and Georgians living abroad will be able to submit to the International Foundation of the Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia their projects for consideration on grant receiving and / or receive the financial awards for already completed works.

Direction of the grant competition:

• Agricultural Technology - Inventions;

• Humanities (philosophy, psychology, theology translations);

• Development of culture.

From the submitted for the consideration humanitarian and scientific works, the Counsil of the Foundation of the Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia will reveal the top 10 works. Also will be given five financial awards for significant contribution in the development of culture and five scholarships to gifted children for studying. The age limit will be assigned to works only in agricultural areas. Young people aged from 20 to 30 years will be able to submit their works. They will have the possibility to choose among the experienced mentors, scientists, technologists and professionals who will lead the project.

Today, on December 24, in the Patriarchate of Georgia was held the official ceremonial of signing of the memorandum and the commencement of a joint initiative, which details were announced to public. On ceremonial attended His Holiness and Beatitude Ilia II, who addressed the audience and said how important the new projects and innovations are for the development of science and culture, as well as national development.

His Holiness thanked David Yakobashvili for this very important initiative:

"Today we have to sign an important document. We would like to thank David Yakobashvili for this much attention. I also want to note that we treat with special attention to the development of philosophy, psychology and other areas, and these funds will help achieve these goals".

From the side of the International Foundation of the Catholicos-Patriarch of Georgia the memorandum was signed by General Manager of the Foundation Mr. Lasha Zhvania, and on behalf of Mr. David Yakobashvili by Mr. Ivane Nakaidze.

The award ceremony of winners and laureates will be held next week after the Resurrection of Christ in the Great Hall of the Tbilisi Philharmonic.
