On October 10, at the residence of the Patriarchate, the Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, His Holiness and Beatitude Ilia II has met with being in a visit to Tbilisi delegation of Jewish organization from U.S. - "Advocates on Behalf of Jews in Eurasia." The delegation is headed by the chairman of the organization Stephen M. Greenberg.

"We very appreciate the good relations that for more than two millennia exist between Georgians and Jews, but we must emphasize the fact that a greater proportion in the determination of this good relations from the Georgian side belongs to your persona," - said the former chairman of the organization Edward B. Robin, who met with His Holiness for the second time.

"In Soviet times, I fought for leaving the closed area in order to return to my Jewish roots. At that time, the Patriarch of Georgia in every way was trying to help the Jews. Personally for me, the meeting with the Patriarch has a great importance and this is what I will explain to my children in America, "- said the organization's president Alexander Smukler.

The meeting was also attended by the U.S. side - Executive Director Mark Levin, Businessman Boris Abramovich and other dignitaries. On the part of the Georgian Church – the members of the Holy Synod, the clergy and the head of the Foundation of the Catholicos-Patriarch Lasha Zhvania.

The Jewish delegation from the United States also had a meeting with U.S. Ambassador Richard Norland and Israeli Ambassador Yuval Fuchs. The delegation is going to visit the Jewish House and Synagogues, and by the end of the day are scheduled the meetings with the Minister of Defense of Georgia and the Minister for Diaspora Issues.
