With the blessing of the Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, the festival was founded in 2006. The International Charitable Foundation of the Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia and “Akaki Ramishvili Foundation – Tradition and Innovation” are the founders of the festival.

31st Christening to be Held Today

22/09/2013

The 31st general christening will be held at St. Trinity cathedral on 22 September. Another 734 infants will become godchildren of the Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia. Christening identification card, New Testament, candles and cross will be given to those baptized as presents.

After the christening, at about 20:00, the Patriarch will arrive at the cathedral to bless his godchildren.
The Catholicos-Patriarch has 17 687 godchildren. They are the third and the next children of the wedded couples.

The 30th christening was held on July 14, 2013. The first christening took place at St. Trinity temple on January 19, 2008. The initiative of the Patriarch aims at improving the demographics in the country.
