The Patriarch Returned to Homeland

“The issue of refugees’ return will develop well”, - the Patriarch of Georgia Ilia the Second said at Zion Cathedral after returning to Georgia. As Patriarch declared, they had a meeting with the Russian Patriarch and also spoke with the Russian President Putin.

“We categorically demanded that refugees must return to their families, their houses. We put hope in God and we think this issue will develop well”, - Ilia the Second declared.

The Patriarch said it was a very important journey to Russia, Ukraine and Belarus. “God bless Georgia. Nothing is better than Georgia. We arrived peacefully by your prayers and God’s will”, - Ilia the Second declared.

The Catholicos-Patriarch of Georgia Ilia the Second started his visit to Russia on 23 July. The Patriarch was invited by Russian Patriarch Kiril.

The Catholicos-Patriarch met with the Patriarch of Russia Kiril, Metropolitan of Kiev and Ukraine Vladimir, Exarch of Byelorussian Patriarchate, Metropolitan of Minsk and Slutsk Filaret, also with the Russian President Putin.
