Patriarch to Visit Russia

The Catholicos-Patriarch Ilia II will visit Russia with the regard to the 1025 anniversary of the Baptism of Russia. Anniversary events will be held in Moscow, Kiev and Minsk. The Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, His Holiness and Beatitude Ilia II will visit all of these cities on July 23-30.

"There will be conversations about the themes that have always been between the Georgian and Russian Churches. One of these issues is transfer of the relics of the Georgian kings," - a representative of the Patriarchate says.

The delegation of the Georgian Patriarchate will meet with members of the Russian Patriarchate. Details of the meetings with Russian officials have not yet been defined.
