On July 6-7, while we were in Tao-Klarjeti and visiting Georgian monasteries, we also visited the Ishkhani cathedral. Unfortunately, there is rapidly going recovery work without the participation of Georgian specialists. Referring to the construction work, we were not even given the right to enter the cathedral and we were able to see it just from the outside.

As the head of this diocese, I want to ask the relevant governmental agencies, to involve in time the Georgian specialists in the restoration work of the Ishkhani cathedral in order to contribute to the protection of heritage of our ancestors and to protect the monument from the rough restoration errors.
