The hand of Saint Spyridon Tremithus delivered to Georgia. The holy part of Spyridon Tremithus was delivered to Georgia by Metropolitan of Corfu Nektarios together with other Greek clergy.

At Tbilisi Airport the shrine and the representatives of the Greek Orthodox Church were met by several representatives of the episcopate of Georgia. Metropolitan of Zugdidi and Tsaishi Gerasim addressed the guests a welcoming speech and noted that the arrival of the saint part of  Spyridon Tremithus to Georgia has caused great joy to the believers of Georgia.

For its part, the Metropolitan of Corfu expressed happiness and satisfaction with his second visit to Georgia. Metropolitan Nektarios said that he prays for the future of the Georgian Orthodox Church and the health of the Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia. According to him, during 35 years Ilia II united the Georgian people and strengthened their faith.

From the Tbilisi airports the holy part was delivered to the Patriarchate of Georgia, where the Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia will host the guests. Later, the shrine will be taken to the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity where it will remain until May 28. After, the holy part of Spyridon Tremithus will be delivered to Terjola and Bodbe.

The delegation of the Greek Orthodox Church will leave Georgia on June 2.
