Protocol of the Meeting of the Holy Synod

On April 23 of this year, was held the regular meeting of the Holy Synod.

The meeting was chaired by the Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, His Holiness and Beatitude Ilia II.

Secretary of the meeting: Metropolitan of Poti and Khobi Grigol.

Absent: Metropolitan of Tsilkani and Dusheti Zosime, Archbishop of Bodbe David, Archbishop of Dmanisi Zenon.

It has been considered two issues: The report of the bishops on the status in their dioceses and the request of the Archbishop of Bodbe David (Tikaridze) on his retirement due to the deteriorating of health.

The Holy Synod approved the request of the Archbishop David, and instead of him in the Diocese of Bodbe was appointed the Bishop Jacob (Iakobashvili). The Diocese of Martkopi and Gardabani, which he led early, fell back into the management of the Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia.
