New editions of “Life of Kartli”

The presentation of Russian and Georgian editions was held in Georgian scientific National Academy. The main publisher of both editions is Academician Roin Metreveli. The festive, solemn evening was attended by his Holiness and Beatitude Catholicos –Patriarch of all Georgia Ilia II. It is remarkable that the new edition of “Life of Kartli” is dedicated to the 75th anivarsary and to the, 30th year of enthronization of the Catholicos –Patriarch Ilia II. His Holiness and Beatitude presented golden cross to the Academician Roin Metreveli for his assistance. The group of editors has been working on coordinated version of “Life of Kartli” for 10 years. During this time, several newly discovered versions have been selected. Five of them were picked out: The version of Mariami, Anna and Tchanashvili. Matchabeli and Klimiashvli versions have been found out by researchers at different times. It is remarkable that “Life of Kartli” has been published into Russian for the first time.
