2013 Declared a Year of King Tamar

“According to the Georgian Orthodox Church’s decision, the 2013 is declared a year of King Tamar”, - the Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia said at the church service today.

Ilia the Second said that 2013 is a jubilee, the scientists consider it the 800th anniversary of the death of King Tamar of Georgia.

“There are different opinions, though most of the scientists think so. We decided to declare 2013 the year of King Tamar. Let the King Tamar be protector of the whole Georgia, bringing unity and joy to everyone”, - Ilia the Second said.
