The Patriarch of Georgia Returns to Homeland Today

The Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia Ilia the Second will return to Tbilisi from Moscow today. Patriarch paid 5-day visit to Russia. The visit aimed at awarding the Patriarch of All Georgia, with the prize for his outstanding efforts to strengthen the unity of Orthodox people, establishing and promotion of Christian values in the society.

Ilia the Second met with the Russia’s Patriarch Kirill. Patriarch conducted service at the Kremlin’s Virgin Mary Temple.

The Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia met with the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.

The Chairperson of the foreign department of the Patriarchate, Zugdidi and Tsaishi metropolitan Gerasime Sharshenidze, Patriarchs’ archbishop Teodore Chuadze, Batumi and Lazeti Metropolitan Dimitry Shiolashvili, presbyter Giorgi Zviadadze, archimandrite Davit Chincharauli, Demetre Davitashvili, doctor of historical sciences Zaza Abashidze were in the delegation with the Patriarch of All Georgia.
