Putin thanks Georgian Patriarch for his contribution into restoration of Russian-Georgian relations

Russian President Vladimir Putin thanked the Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia Ilia ll for his contribution into restoration of Russian-Georgian relations.

The meeting was held at the presidential residence in Moscow and it was attended by Russian Patriarch Kiril too.

“I want to thank you especially for your efforts in preserving humanitarian, cultural and spiritual contacts between the two fraternal nations today - in this difficult period when relations are quite tensed”, - Vladimir Putin said.

He congratulated the Georgian Patriarch on his 80th jubilee and the 35th anniversary of enthronization.
