Ilia the Second – Yesterday’s Meeting was an Expression of Love and Respect

“The meeting that took place at the Patriarchate of Georgia yesterday was distinguished”, - said the Catholicos-Patriarch of Georgia, His Holiness and Beatitude Ilia the Second to journalists.

As he stated, the President, Prime Minister and Chairman of the Parliament spoke about the future of Georgia.

“It was an expression of love and respect”, - stated His Holiness. He noted that the Prime Minister showed his will to declare 2013 as year of love.

The Patriarch of All Georgia also spoke about the visit of the high rank ecclesiastics.

“There probably has not been such a case in Georgia for 2000 years, that the Patriarchs of three Orthodox Churches and high ranking ecclesiastics of the independent churches celebrated the Orthodox New Year together in Georgia. They blessed Georgia and the whole world”, - stated Ilia the Second.

The Patriarch blessed the journalists. “You can change the viewpoints. Along with the issues that you cover, also mention the good deeds that take place, to give people hope in the future”, - Ilia the Second said.

The President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili, the Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili and the Chairman of the Parliament Davit Usupashvili celebrated the Orthodox New Year at the Patriarchate of Georgia together.
