The Patriarch of All Russia Kirill congratulates Ilia II

The Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill congratulated the Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, His Holiness and Beatitude Ilia II on the anniversary dates.

The letter of congratulation was read by the director of the Foreign Department of the Russian Orthodox Church, Bishop Ilarion, in the Georgian language at the Holy Trinity Cathedral.

"Your Holiness and Beatitude, your life was dedicated to the church from your adolescence. The choice of your life-way is foundation of your rich spiritual experience and wisdom. God gave you a spiritual gift, which is priceless treasure”, - is said in the letter.

As it is said in the letter of congratulation, Ilia ll’s patriarchate is a particular epoch not only in the life of the Georgian Church, but also in church relations of the two countries, which preserve sincerity and warmth due to the Georgian Patriarch’s personal qualities.

After reading the text of congratulation, Bishop Ilarion presented Ilia ll with the icon of Holy Virgin and wished him a long life.
