Bidzina Ivanishvili hosts the Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople Bartholomew I

Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili has hosted the Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople Bartholomew I. According to the Prime Minister’s press office, Bidzina Ivanishvili thanked the Patriarch for his visit on behalf of the Georgian government.

The meeting at the State Chancellery was attended by the Catholicos-Patriarch of Georgia, His Holiness and Beatitude Ilia II and the Speaker of the Georgian Parliament David Usupashvili.

The Ecumenical Patriarch and the Patriarchs of Serbia, Bulgaria, Alexandria and the representatives from Russia and the Czech Orthodox churches arrived in Georgia to attend the events dedicated to the Catholicos-Patriarch Ilia II jubilee.
