Mikhail Saakashvili hosts Patriarch Bartholomew I and Ilia ll at his residence

The President Mikhail Saakashvili hosted the Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople Bartholomew I and the Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia Ilia ll at his residence.
According to the President’s Administration, the Georgian President and the Ecumenical Patriarch once again congratulated the Georgian Patriarch on his jubilee and Enthronement anniversary. Mikhail Saakashvili talked about the Catholicos-Patriarch’s merits and said that his birthday date is a general festival for the whole nation.
The Ecumenical Patriarch once again thanked Mikhail Saakashvili for a warm meeting. He blessed all of Georgia and the Georgian President, and wished him a long life and strength.
The meeting was attended by the Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia< his Holiness and Beatitude Ilia ll, the Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia David Usupashvili and the Serbian Patriarch.
Mikhail Saakashvili thanked Bartholomew I for his participation in the events dedicated to the Georgian Patriarch’s jubilee.
“Your Holiness, your visit to Georgia is a great honor to us. You are respected not only as a spiritual leader, but also as a distinguished person. We are always glad about your visits to Georgia. You are a real friend to Georgia. We appreciate your contribution in the strengthening of the Orthodox Church as well as in negotiations between the regions”, - stated the President.
According to Bartholomew I, it is very pleasant for him to
attend the Georgian Patriarch’s jubilee.
A festive supper was held after the meeting on behalf of the President of
Georgia.
