Bulgarian Patriarch Maxim died

The Primate of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church, Patriarch Maxim, died on Tuesday at a 99-years life.
The patriarch was born on October 29, 1914 in the village Oreshak near the town of Troyan City. Worldly name of the patriarch is Marin Naydenov Minkov. At age 12, his parents sent their son to Troyan Monastery. On December 13, 1941, he took vows as a monk.
On July 12, 1947 by the decision of the Holy Synod of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church monk Maximus was elevated to the rank of Archimandrite.
He was elected to the Patriarchal throne in 1971.
Funeral of the Patriarch Maxim will be held on Friday, November 9.
The new Bulgarian Church Primate will be elected within the next four months.
