With the blessing of the Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, the festival was founded in 2006. The International Charitable Foundation of the Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia and “Akaki Ramishvili Foundation – Tradition and Innovation” are the founders of the festival.

The President and the Patriarch laid wreaths at the memorial to fallen heroes

Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili and the Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, Archbishop of Mtskheta and Tbilisi, the Metropolitan of Bichvinta and Tskhum-Abkhazia, His Holiness and Beatitude Ilia II laid wreaths at the memorial to fallen in the Russian-Georgian war heroes at a mass grave of Mukhadgverdi.

The event was attended by family members of war victims, representatives from the Ministry of Defense and the Joint Staff.

At the ceremony, the Orchestra of Ministry of Defense played a funeral march and the national anthem of Georgia.

43 military persons are buried at the cemetery of Mukhadgverdy. Several of them have not been identified.
