The Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, the Archbishop of Mtskheta and Tbilisi, and the Metropolitan of Bichvinta and Tskhum-Abkhazia, His Holiness and Beatitude Ilia II visited the Bodbe.

The head of the Georgian Church acquainted with construction of a new church named I honor of Saint Nina Equal to the Apostles. His Holiness called the temple beautiful and noted that Georgia was waiting for the construction of this temple 17 centuries. Ilia II blessed the Archbishop of Bodbe David, abbes Theodora, living in Bodbe monks and churchwarden Archil Gegenava.

Bodbe has a particular role and importance in the history of Georgia as there rests the Enlightener of Georgia, Equal to the Apostles st. Nino. St. Nino rests in the church of St. Giorge and the desire of His Holiness Ilia II was the construction of the eponymous temple at the place of burial of St. Nino. In 2010 year, with the blessing of the Catholicos-Patriarch, the architect of the Patriarchate of Georgia Teimuraz Beridze began to work at the project. The temple consists of two floors and reaches a height of 33 meters. Project of the temple is a synthesis of the oldest architectural monuments of Georgia.

Today, the Catholicos-Patriarch also prayed at the burial place of St. Nino and thanked the Lord that the recent element did not affect this area.
